Brief Bio:
Welcome to my professional profile! I am Dr Rodreck David, an Associate Professor of Data and Information Systems at EM-Lyon Business School. I specialize in fields of data management, data analytics, and digital ecosystems.
Prior to joining EM-Lyon, I held the position of Teaching Fellow at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, where I facilitated the learning of students in the fields of IT architecture, innovation, digital strategy, and information systems through instruction and tutoring. This experience has enhanced my abilities to deliver comprehensive and effective learning experiences.
My aim is to share my expertise and insights with students, professionals, and organizations who seek to excel in the data & digital landscape. By integrating the latest theories, technologies, and practical approaches, I empower individuals and businesses to navigate the complexities of data and digital ecosystems, make data-driven decisions, and drive innovation.
For students and individuals: I am available for private tutoring, mentoring, and coaching: Fundamentals of data science, hands on practices with SQL and data analytics tools such as MySQL Workbench, Big Query, GCP, AWS, & Python. I also cover BI & data visualization with Python, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, & Knime. Contact me.
For organizations: I coach start-ups on the basics of digital ecosystems, how to address network effects, critical mass and monetization challenges starting from conception to launch. For established organizations, I do customized trainings and coaching of fundamentals of digital transformation and platformization. I am very conversant with multiple industry standard IS/IT systems: SAP, PRP, IntelliPro, Salesforce, etc. Contact me.
Summary of Research Interests:
My research revolves around the dynamic field of digital innovation. I am interested in the intricate workings of digital platforms, as well as the strategic management of data.
In my doctoral research journey at Victoria University of Wellington (2017-2021), I examined the design and development of an inter-organizational platform. This was quite an ambitious project involving over 50 New Zealand businesses such as airlines, airports, visitor experience providers (e.g., canyon swings, ziptreks), private corporates, hotel chains, and government agencies. These organizations sought to create a data co-sourcing platform to serve their businesses within NZ's vibrant tourism sector. The findings of my research shed light on both technical (IT Architecture) and strategic aspects (Governance) of platform design and the effective management of inter-organizational data co-sourcing.
